Saleem Ahmed, MD, who specializes in interventional cardiology, achieved board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology as well as Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. After completing his MD at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1998, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. At Case he received the Charles CJ Carpenter award for outstanding senior medical resident. Dr. Ahmed then continued his training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, completing fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. Since 2005, he was a member of the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute at Passavant, serving as both the director of their cardiac catheterization lab and progressive care unit from 2014-2022. In 2020, he earned a Masters of Medical Management from Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
