Florentino Lupercio, MD is board certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship training in general cardiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He completed advanced subspecialty training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at University of California San Diego. Besides using catheter ablation to treat atrial fibrillation, Dr. Lupercio also has a special interest in stroke reduction in patients with AF using warfarin or newer blood thinners. He is trained and able to perform newer procedural techniques for left atrial appendage occlusion with the WATCHMAN device. His expertise also includes implantation and management of cardiac rhythm devices, including implantable loop recorders, leadless and standard pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices. Dr. Lupercio's research has resulted in publications in several top cardiology journals, including Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Journal
