George Torres, MD, is a board-certified pulmonologist with advanced expertise in sleep medicine. Over the course of his career, Dr. Torres has performed missionary work in the Dominican Republic, where he studied medicine, and served as a Lieutenant Colonel in clinical leadership positions within the United States Air Force. He has also worked as a staff pulmonologist/critical care physician in hospitals across Central Florida.
Dr. Torres joined AdventHealth after teaching at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. His current scope of practice includes clinical pulmonary medicine, fiberoptic bronchoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic), endobronchial ultrasound, mechanical ventilation management, pulmonary function and ABGs interpretation, ultrasound-guided thoracentesis, pulmonary exercise studies, methacholine challenge testing and sleep study interpretation.
